What’s Up with The Donald? Sources Say “Something’s Off” at Trump Tower
Something strange is going on in Trumpworld, and the whispers are getting louder than a deal closing at Mar-a-Lago.
Over the past few months, insiders tell Page Six that Donald J. Trump has been behaving in ways that have even his loyal lieutenants scratching their heads — and that’s saying something.
“He’s always been eccentric, sure,” says one longtime associate, “but lately he’s been… different. Forgetful. Repeating himself. Talking about things that didn’t happen. It’s like he’s living in a parallel reality.”
According to sources at Trump Tower, The Donald has reportedly been holding impromptu ‘press conferences’ in the office lobby — often without any press present — where he’ll announce “major deals” that no one can verify later. One witness recalls him insisting he was “personally developing a new casino in Iceland.” (For the record, no such project exists.)
Another staffer says he’s become obsessed with the number seven, demanding that certain memos only be printed in multiples of seven pages and that gold pens be arranged in “seven-point alignment” on his desk. “He says it’s good luck,” the staffer explains, “but he’s fired people for ‘breaking the pattern.’”
And there’s more. At a charity dinner in late May, Trump reportedly took the stage uninvited and delivered what one guest described as “a 20-minute stream of consciousness about destiny, buildings, and television ratings.” His sons, Don Jr. and Eric, quickly escorted him away, smiling for the cameras as if nothing had happened.
“They’re covering for him,” claims another source close to the family. “He’s not himself. You can see it in his eyes — he’s distracted, unfocused. Something’s wrong.”
But others insist it’s just classic Trump showmanship. “He’s a genius at keeping people talking,” says a business associate. “Every time you think he’s gone too far, he finds a way to spin it into publicity.”
Still, the chatter isn’t dying down. Rumors swirl that the Trump Organization’s inner circle has quietly tightened access to their boss, citing “fatigue” and “stress.” Ivanka, the ever-composed daughter, has been spotted taking more active control of public appearances.
For now, no one’s saying anything official. The Trump Organization declined to comment when Page Six reached out — but as one former employee told us:
“The lights are still on at Trump Tower… but I’m not sure who’s flipping the switch.”
Stay tuned. In this town, silence always means there’s a bigger story coming.
