Where do you live: Yuri and Cel live in an apartment while their home is being built. The two live together and have since moved to New Mexico.
History: Yuri has a pretty simple past. He was adopted by an American family at the age of 3 from Russia. So he really doesn't have much of an accent. Although sometimes, once in a great while a little bit of it slips out. Otherwise, he was raised as the only child of two loving parents. He always liked being out in the garden with his mother. He was more of an outside kind of kid and never really found the thrill in video games or indoor activities. Yuri knew he was different from other kids but didn't realize how different until he was twelve years old. That was the first time he noticed he had an effect on plants. There was a wilted Porthos at the grocery store and he asked his mom if he could buy it with his allowance, take it home, and try to help it. She, of course, agreed. The whole car ride home Yuri held the plant in his lap and talked to it. By the time they got home the plant was healthy. Mrs. Barnet assumed that Yuri had changed his mind and gotten another plant when she wasn't looking. But Yuri knew, he'd watched it grow in his lap. He wasn't afraid that his parents would reject him for his 'gift' he just didn't want to show anyone. He saw no need to. He spent more time outside and more time in the garden. Yuri was not one to be violent, so it was very surprising to him one day when a bully at his school picked a fight with him. Yuri had tried to run from the kid, but that hadn't happened. Up against a tree the bully threatened to punch him and it was the tree that reacted. Its branches swung low and send the bully flying. Yuri started to use his "plant friends" to help people, always from a distance and never taking credit for his work.
Powers: Plant Manipulation: Yuri can create, shape, move, control, interact and manipulate plants, mainly multicellular organisms, predominantly photosynthetic eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae, including wood, vines, plants, moss, and parts of the plants, such as leaves, seeds, roots, fruits, and flowers. Yuri can cause plants to grow, move/attack or even rise from the soil and "walk", mutate plants by rearranging DNA structure and reviving withered or dead plants.
He can use their power for defense and support, cause flowers and other plants to bloom instantaneously, manipulate tree branches to use them as whip-like weapons, control spores, and pollen, bring plants back to life and make them sprout seeds/fruits/berries, use plant chemicals to heal people/objects, and/or manipulate their properties for a wide range of effects.
Although Yuri generally doesn’t use the plants as weapons he can. Using the plants as weapons enable him to grasp and strike continuously with vines and roots, project thorns at a distance, and quickly regenerate the withering weapons at the user’s will. They can grow vines to entangle enemies, climb around a target's neck, causing choking, or strike with plants. A more subtle technique is to release damaging toxins and pheromones, affecting targets in which conditions should be treated quickly with ailments.
